TYSON’S CORNER, VA.—September 26, 2017. S M Resources Corporation (SMRC) has been awarded a prime contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC) Library. The PIFSC provides scholarly resources and information services in support of research in the areas of fisheries, marine biology, oceanography, and related subjects in the western and central Pacific Ocean. SMRC will be providing Librarian support services through organization and management of high quality archives, special collections, and digital collections, and will be developing and promoting library services to enhance the impact of these archives and collections on PIFSC research staff. This contract will be supporting scientific staff, researchers, cooperating institutions, and the public.
According to SMRC CEO, Neelu Modali, this new contract with the NOAA NMFS will be a great addition to SMRC’s 26-year partnership with NOAA. “With SMRC’s deep rooted history at NOAA, we have been able to expand our scope of work to support the Agency’s evolving needs and establish a nationwide presence supporting NOAA. We are proud of our 20+ year relationship with NOAA and look forward to continuing to grow our presence within the Agency and further diversify our scope of work.”
