SMRC Awarded NOAALinkTask Order with OAR

FALLS CHURCH, Va. ,— April 4, 2018. SM Resources Corporation (SMRC) was awarded its 6th NOAALink task order supporting the High Performance Computing Support Services for the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) within the Office of Atmospheric Research (OAR) in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The GLERL mission is conduct innovative research on the dynamic environments and ecosystems of the Great Lakes to provide information for resource use and management decisions that lead to safe and sustainable ecosystems, ecosystem services, and human communities. SMRC was awarded the NOAALink IDIQ Contract in December 2016, which serves as the premier IT Services Vehicle at NOAA. SMRC will be supporting the GLERL through providing system administration for high performance computing (HPC) platforms and end-user desktop platforms, installation and support of system and application software, including diagnosis and tuning of system performance. In addition, SMRC will be providing long-term planning and system development support to GLERL through interpreting and maintaining existing IT security policies as well as mandates from NOAA to help develop new GLERL-specific policies as needed for the HPC Cluster and the additional servers under management. Through applying technical expertise and innovative approaches, SMRC will enable the GLERL stakeholders to use the environmental and ecosystem research to make educated decisions that impact our nation. SMRC Awarded NOAA Librarian Services Contract in Hawaii

TYSON’S CORNER, VA.—September 26, 2017. S M Resources Corporation (SMRC) has been awarded a prime contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC) Library. SMRC will support this 5-year contract out of Honolulu, Hawaii. This is SMRC’s 6th contract award with NOAA this year.

The PIFSC provides scholarly resources and information services in support of research in the areas of fisheries, marine biology, oceanography, and related subjects in the western and central Pacific Ocean. SMRC will be providing Librarian support services through organization and management of high quality archives, special collections, and digital collections, and will be developing and promoting library services to enhance the impact of these archives and collections on PIFSC research staff. Our personnel will also be providing digital archiving services for ensuring Public Access to Research Results (PARR), which is essential for researchers to carry out their work at the Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC). This contract will be supporting scientific staff, researchers, cooperating institutions, and the public.

SMRC Awarded NOAALink Task Order with Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory

SM Resources Corporation (SMRC) was awarded its 5th NOAALink task order supporting the Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML). AOML conducts scientific research that studies hurricanes, extreme weather, climate health, coastal ecosystems, and physical oceanography. SMRC was awarded the NOAALink IDIQ Contract in December 2016, which serves as the premier IT Services Vehicle at NOAA.

SMRC will be providing IT support services working with AOML’s Oracle databases using a customized based JavaEE front end based on the Vaadin framework and Vaadin CDI. SMRC will aid in modifying the development and production infrastructure currently in operation at OAR/AOML to accept and process internal management control actions from multiple Financial Management Centers. These services will be provided for 3 years at the OAR Atlantic and Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory located in Miami, Florida.

SMRC Awarded NOAALinkTask Order with Pacific Marine Environmental Library

SM Resources Corporation (SMRC) was awarded its third NOAALink task order supporting Ocean and Atmospheric Research (OAR) office at the Pacific Marine Environmental Library (PMEL). SMRC was awarded the NOAALink IDIQ Contract in December 2016, which serves as the premier IT Services Vehicle at NOAA. This will be SMRC’s first NOAALink Task Order supporting the OAR office.

SMRC will be providing IT support services at the PMEL’s Computing and Networking Services Division (CNSD) performing IT network, server, and desktop support services. Specifically, SMRC will be providing services in accordance to the operating plan goal of the CNSD to transition to a more cloud-based, shared services operation which will increase efficiency and reduce costs. These services will be provided for 3 years at the Pacific Marine Environmental Library (PMEL), which is located in Seattle, WA.

SMRC Awarded NOAALink Task Order performing Information Systems Security Reporting with the National Marine Fisheries Service, Southeast Fisheries Science Center

SM Resources Corporation (SMRC) was awarded its 2nd NOAALink task order supporting the National Marine Fisheries Service, Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC) in Miami, Florida. This contract for professional services will address continuous monitoring of the Risk Management Framework of the NOAA Fisheries Service and prepared documentation and quarterly reviews of the risk assessment, privacy impact analysis, threshold assessment and contingency planning. SMRC was awarded the NOAALink IDIQ Contract in December 2016, which serves as the premier IT Services Vehicle at NOAA.

SMRC will be maintaining diagnostics and mitigation programs in accordance with NOAA Fisheries standards. The monitoring operations will include and incorporate Department of Commerce, NOAA, and NMFS computer security regulations along with prioritizing processes and recommendations for improvement. SMRC will also develop and implement the Southeast fisheries Science Center comprehensive computer security programs and maintain the detailed documentation and reporting of the information systems security procedures.

SMRC Awarded NOAALink Task Order with National Weather Services, Fire Weather Program Incident Meteorologists

SM Resources Corporation (SMRC) was awarded its 4th NOAALink task order supporting the National Weather Services (NWS), Western Region, Fire Weather Program Incident Meteorologists (IMET). The NWS Fire Weather Program objective is to provide fire weather and other products and services to the fire, land management and emergency response community for the protection of life and property, to promote firefighter and emergency responder safety, and stewardship of America’s public lands. SMRC was awarded the NOAALink IDIQ Contract in December 2016, which serves as the premier IT Services Vehicle at NOAA.

SMRC will be providing IT support to NWS with computer systems development, software applications development, software and hardware maintenance, help desk, analysis and utility advisory on new computer technologies, and field system acquisition and deployment. In addition, SMRC will be providing long-term planning and system development as well as short-term critical and non-critical technical support to field Incident Meteorologists (IMET) in ensuring the smooth, uninterrupted execution of the NWS Fire Weather Program. These services will be provided for 3 ½ years at the NWS Western Region Headquarters, located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
