SMRC Awarded Federal Contract for Coast Watch By NOAA, Value $2,584,008



Lanham, Maryland September 1, 2009 – S M Resources Corporation (SMRC) was awarded a 3-year contract to support the NOAA CoastWatch program, in value of $2,584,008.40. The Coast Watch (CW/OW) mission is to provide and ensure timely access to near real-time satellite data to protect, restore and manage U.S. coastal ocean resources, and understand climate variability and change to further enhance society’s quality of life. Its primary users include Federal, State, and local marine scientists, coastal resource managers, and the general public.

Under this National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) contract, SMRC has teamed with SP Systems (Greenbelt, Maryland), an organization with substantial expertise on this project.

The SMRC Team’s capabilities and experience are well suited for ensuring the Coast Watch/Ocean Watch programs achieve scientific and technical objectives. Both firms bring accomplished staff members in the areas of science and technology. SMRC will be supporting this program in the following areas:
