SMRC Sponsors Science Fair

SMRC sponsors to Loudoun County Public Schools Regional Science & Engineering Fair

Ashburn, VA, MARCH 1, 2012 – SMRC, for the second straight year, is sponsoring the 31st Loudon County Public Schools Regional Science & Engineering Fair (RSEF) on March 15, 2012 at Woodgrove High School.

As part of the company’s commitment to invest in the next generation of U.S. scientific achievement, SMRC routinely selects and sponsors local events within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Since the RSEF typically attracts over 200 nominated students per year, SMRC has found that its own PhD level scientists enjoy sharing – and learning – new knowledge among a group of future stars. This year, SMRC is sponsoring the “Aspiring Scientist Award” in five categories: biochemistry; chemistry; earth & planetary sciences; environmental sciences; and physics & astronomy.

In its 31-year history, RSEF has emerged as a reputable environment for stimulating student interest in science and engineering, encouraging independent research, opening new opportunities to participate and contribute, and recognize talented students.
