SMRC Awarded $9.6M Federal Contract by U.S. Department of State



Ashburn, VA, October 16, 2012 – The U.S. Department of State (DOS) has awarded SMRC a $9,622,974.40 prime contract to provide translation, editing, and original copy writing services. This was an 8(a) Competitive Set-Aside Award. SMRC will support the Bureau of International Information Programs (IIP) for multimedia and print outreach in multiple languages, including Arabic, Farsi, Chinese, Urdu, Turkish, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Russian. The contract covers a base year, plus four option years.

In response to the contract award, SMRC’s CEO Neelu Modali said, “Considering the information being translated directly impacts the success of our country’s foreign policy  initiatives, I am pleased the Department of State recognizes SMRC as the company best suited to support this critical mission.”

With the possibility of this contract extending to five years, SMRC will continue being an industry leader in providing language solutions to Federal government clients in need of reliable and accurate long-term support.
