In June, the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAACC) recognized S M Resources Corporation (SMRC) as one of its 2013 “Fast 50 Asian American Businesses.” The announcement was made at the CelebrAsian Procurement Opportunity Conference in Garden Grove, California.

SMRC President and CEO Neelu Modali attended to personally accept a plaque of recognition and stated, “we are honored to be chosen as a recipient of this prestigious award. This recognizes the success SMRC has experienced and demonstrates our commitment to a long and prosperous future for the company.”

The USPAACC Education Foundation is a non-profit that exists to represent Asian American and Asian American-related groups. Their goal through this award is to recognize and continue to drive Asian American businesses towards goals of economic prosperity and achievement.

Awardees were chosen from a nationwide search for companies with a majority ownership by Asian Americans and at least $1 million in revenue for the previous three fiscal years. Companies were identified from industries including supply chain management; healthcare; professional staffing; food wholesale; IT; environmental; green energy; and media.

Selecting SMRC marks a milestone in the company’s long-standing record of achievement. This is the first time SMRC has received this award.
